Obi-Wan Kenobi Trailer Dropped

While it has been a couple of years since the news broke of an Obi-Wan series, it doesn’t make the trailer any less exciting. There are ranges of emotions when it comes to things related to Star wars, especially with all the new material that has been released over the last 7-8 years. However, this show will take us all the way back to the beginning, once again tugging on the childhood memories of those whose first Stars Wars memory was a New Hope, but also those who started with Phantom Menace. Judging by the trailer there will be plenty of influences/tie-ins from the cartoon properties as well, and maybe even some Fallen Order to sprinkle in, but that one could be a bit more out there.

The following is the description on starwars.com “The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, in which Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat — the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side and became the evil Sith Lord, Darth Vader.”

So far the trailer has old and new faces alike, but most eyes will be locked in to see the confirmed return of Darth Vader with Hayden Christensen returning to play the iconic role. There have been rumors that James Earl Jones will return to voice Vader, but until it’s confirmed in some fashion, I would take it with a grain of salt given that he has had health issues in recent years, but fingers crossed.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will debut May 25, exclusively on Disney+.
