Kamala Khan is finally getting her MCU debut on Disney+ on June 8th, but a full trailer has finally dropped so we can get a bit more insight on what to expect.
As we have heard, her powers don’t seem to come from Terrigen like in the comics, but rather a mystic bracer. Now Terrigenesis has been shown in both Agents of Shield and the critically panned Inhumans, but with AoS still blurring the line of whether it is still officially MCU and Inhumans not doing as well as Marvel/Disney had hoped, it would make sense that they would skip that this time around. My theory is it is some ancient Kree item of sorts, but of course it’s easy to default to that, so we will just have to wait and see.
The trailer reminds me alot of the newer Spider-man movies, but obviously they are going with a reliable coming of age story process, which I expect to see in the Ironheart series as well as they continue to build the next generation of Avengers. While the trailer had a few bumps that aren’t really worth getting into, I do have alot of hope for this series as Kamala has become a favorite of mine as well as other readers and it would be a shame if this fell flat. All we can do is wait and see when it arrives on June 8th, but so far it looks promising.
